Prerequisite: Organic chemistry, calculus, and Microbiology 311. 3/4 unit. Offered in alternate years.

FSHN 371 - Food and Industrial Microbiology

Same as Microbiology 311. Relationship of microorganisms to food manufacture and preservation, to industrial fermentation and processing, and to sanitation.

Prerequisite: Microbiology 101 or 201 or equivalent; credit or concurrent registration in organic chemistry laboratory, or consent of instructor. 3 hours or 3/4 unit.

FSHN 204 - Food Microbiology for Non-Majors

Introduction to food plant sanitation and the role of microorganisms in food manufacture.

Prerequisite: Sophomore standing.
1 hour. Students may not receive credit for both Food Science and Human Nutrition 101 and 204.
